My mind is in a tizzy and I'm clearly not thinking straight. THIS POST IS MY VENT AND HOPEFULLY WRITING THIS, I'LL GET SOME SLEEP!!!
I can say that I am so emotional about this years election that is has made me go bonkers. (even more than usual). I haven't been able to sleep since Sunday and so glad that the RNC is over. I'M HAVING NIGHTMARES PEOPLE! I CAN say that I am fired up even more about Obama after this week. I'm not writing this to change peoples minds, that's the last thing I want to do. What ever gets you excited to be an American and vote is all that matters.
I was not an Obama supporter until after the DNC. There were a lot of unanswered questions but have been glued to the Internet reading about both parties. I am brown, middle class, have been ridiculed as a Mexican American and have heard first hand from my papa on how he was discriminated against as a "non white". Civil rights, immigration reform, welfare and education plans, veteran and military aid and health care reform are my hopes. I know first hand of the way our military is taken care of in Iraq and Afghanistan as I have dear friends with young sons there. It is appalling. I have been on welfare at one point of my life and believe me, it wasn't because I was lazy. I don't know if these changes can be done as our parties promise, they are politicians, right? HOWEVER, at least these are topics that are actually brought up with the party I support.
I am for raising taxes. How else can this country get our of the failing economy? Palin has said that she is against raising taxes, however, she raised taxes in her wonderful small town to pay for a sports center (probably for rich hockey players) however she opposed using those taxes she raised to improve a small library. She got her passport a year ago, but is so learned in foreign affairs. I do like McCain (but did he look like a robot last night?) and as my mother has told me, all parties involved do love this country and want to make a difference. I believe that as well, but I need hope...and I certainly didn't see hope this week.
By the way, Joshua voted for Bush both terms...and he won't be voting for "him" again this year. Not that this all matters to all of you. I didn't want to voice my political views as my mother has always said, "you don't talk politics or religion with family" and I do feel my fellow bloggers are family. Thank you all for letting me vent. I could go on and on, just as you all could about your specific party, but I just couldn't let another day go by with out sharing my convictions.
Bring on the debates!!!
I will not be writing any more political posts from now on. This was my first and only.
Whew!
On a lighter note, I am looking forward to my weekend. Asa and I get to sleep in and hang out in the morning. No swim class or soccer games. What a treat.
I love being married to the man of my dreams. Although we have been together forever, being a newlywed kicks ass. He WAS being very selfish the night before our wedding and I was quite angry and bitchy and told him I didn't have to marry him, I'm sure I could find someone else to marry. Ahhhhh, love....
Doctor has given me a GO!! SCARY!!
Thank you for all your good wishes.
SHAKE N' BAKE!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the post. I'm so proud of you for doing your research and being educated. Voting is the most important, no matter how they vote. I'm so glad you have spent your first week married! How cool for you and Joshua!!! Did Josh show you the bag I put the volt meter in? LOL. TGIF! I always look forward to reading them. I love you sissy!
I agree love the post! I think being educated and voting, regardless of how you vote is the most important course of action we as Americans can take right now as well. WOOOHOO! A green light for baby making, babies scare the shit out of me, but I do really think they are cute!
Trina
You have the right to an opinion just like anyone else. I too am proud of you for taking the time to do so much research. I love the fact that you have the morning with Master Asa. He is just a joy. Im already praying for a blessing to be added to your family since I see the love and joy you have for both of the "babies" you have now. Love Sandi
You know someone told me last week that since their person didn't get the nomination that they weren't going to vote and it was their right as an American not to. This amazed me. I think that all the people who have worked so hard and gone through so much to be called an American citizen would be shocked and sickened at someone who just throws that right in the garbage as kind of a.....should I say temper tantrum? No matter who you supported in the primaries, I think we should all take a page from your book. Get involved in watching the debates, check out the facts for yourself, read up on the candidates and their values and get behind the person who most represents what you would like to see happen. And above all VOTE or don't let anyone hear you bitching about how sucky you think things are afterwards!
There....that's my one and only political blog comment!
Love you and congratulations on almost ONE WHOLE WEEK of marital bliss!!!! LOL I'm so happy for all three of you!!
Trina, I think that the fact you take time to consider the issues, consider the canidates and consider your options is stellar! If only all Americans did that before they vote!
Although I'm in Canada so on the outside looking in, we here watch your electoral process with much interest. After all decisions made in your country affect ours as well being one of the closest neighbours.
I can't accept anything at face value, I always have to delve deeper and so watched both conventions with a jaded eye. I too am all fired up about Obama and seriously hope he gets elected. I found the RNC to be filled with a lot of digs at the Democrats and no real substance. And personally I can't take anymore stories of McCain's stint as a POW. How about the story of how he came back from Vietnam and left his wife who was disfigured in a serious car accident while he was a POW and left her for Cindy McCain. UGH!
Anyhoo, I guess I should step down off my soapbox. I've been so inspired by your Mom's and your posts on this!
On a much brighter note, I'm so happy for you and your wonderful marriage. You exude happiness through your posts! Good Luck on the babymaking! Your whole family raises my spirits on a daily business and you all deserve nothing but happiness!
Blondie
That's daily basis, not business! LOL
Reading blogs hasn't become a business for me quite yet! LOL
Blondie
Go GET PREGGGERS already, Trina Trina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
was that too pushy? hee hee!
At first I had my reservations about Obama. Then I watched the DNC and was so impressed. I also think he made a great choice in Biden. But, I wanted to have an open mind and watched McCain speak and was not impressed at all.
He just seems like such a weasel.
Yes, you do have the right to your opinion and I enjoy reading your blog, but after todays blog I have to ask....in all your research that you have done...have you seen this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIdbYjmbFzo
Before you vote and as you plan to add a precious life into your family please take the time to watch this and consider if these values are really what we want in charge of the US.
Good luck on the baby making. What great news to hear. Love you!
Hey anonymous, Trina has the balls to post HER NAME and HER THOUGHTS on HER BLOG and you can't find the spine to post your name and stand behind your link?????? I hate anonymous comments, but I do still have them enabled on my blog because I put myself out there so I can take the attack of others. It just goes to show your true character.
Cameo, No one was attacking anyone until you just attacked me. There are many reasons why someone might choose to remain anonymous when on the computer. You don't walk in my shoes,so why judge me? Like I said, I wasn't trying to judge Trina or attack her. I have seen what a loving, caring person she is and how she seems to love the kids in her family so much, that is the reason I shared the link. Trina stated she has been doing a lot of research (I have too), but I didn't know anything about this until this week when a "anonymous" person sent it my way. I didn't get mad that the person sent it to me, I was happy to have more info. Sorry if that's not the case here. Just for your info...I am NOT a McCain lover (far from it) and I am pro choice...just not pro inhumane cruelty. After seeing this it has left me wondering if McCain and Obama aren't both weasels. And I guess I was just hoping to see what others thought. I guess after reading your comments, I know how you feel about it all.
Anonymous;
This is my last post on this whole thing. However, I did want to apologize for my wording, attack was obviously the wrong word and I am sorry for that. I wrote the comment in haste and will protect my sister fiercely whether she needs it or not, as she would me. So, again, I apologize for jumping all over you and using the wrong wording. That said, it DOES annoy me when people use anonymous comments. Besides, I have a pretty good idea of who you are due to stat counter. If you have an opinion, feel free to say it but if you don't feel like you can stand behind it enough to leave your name, well, then do you really support it? I DO have a bad habit of judging others awfully quickly, that is a bad habit that I'm trying to break, but obviously not doing a very good job of it. And for the record Trina neither supports nor condemns my comments here. She knew she was opening herself up when she posted what she did, as do I. So, in summary, I am sorry for my wording and for jumping all over you, but stand behind my distaste for anonymous comments. This is my last comment on the subject so if you want to have the last word, be my guest.
Cameo
happy Greetings
after reading the comments here from "anonymous" and "Cameo".
I can understand why somebody would stay anonymous.
I really don't see what "harm" it can do to remain anonymous. this Election is not about the Person writting, its about their opionion and point of view,
shoulden't we all be able to feel "comfortable" in commenting on these blogs, even IF we don't want others to know who we are?
do we really need to "demonize" people who choose to remain anounymous? I know people who are very uncomfortable expressing their views in public, and therefore staying Anounymous they can still feel "safe" yet voice an opinion. shoulden't we give them that freedom without retaliation?
again, what harm is there in that? with that being said, I too am staying anounymous.
May God bless our Nation.
hey, has anybody seen this.

I watched it on t.v. it is one hour of questions for Obama, and one hour of questions for MCcain.
I was very impressed with the selection of questions which really reveal the "character" of each Candidate.
go check it out. its very informative.
