"Age appropriate Police"

Last night was Asa's first summer league soccer game. He scored 4 goals and he was so excited. He was also excited when the other team scored a goal too. When we sit and watch soccer on TV, he always cheers on both teams. He just loves the game I guess.

Josh and I are going to see The Police on Friday. The event is at our outdoor amphitheater, and weather should be hot. I am so excited. Josh probably won't know all the songs, since he was only 2 when one of their first songs came out!! LOL They were probably the first band that I knew of and started listening too at about 11. I'm very excited about seeing Sting in person. (eh Sissy?)

Needless to say, I have been listening to The Police greatest hits for a few months now. I rarely listen to that when Asa is in the car. It's always nursery rhymes or bible music. Every now and then he will ask to listen to the "not age appropriate Police". The only song he likes is Don't Stand So Close to Me. So I play it over and over and over..... I have explained to him that only some songs are not age appropriate but he still says "I wanna listen to the not age appropriate Police". Last night on the way TO soccer he asked me who was singing on the Police. I said The Police. He came back with "No mum mum, the SINGER who is SINGING!" I said Sting. He was quite for a while and of course here it comes...."Why is he Sting?" I answered "that's just his name, like your name is Asa, his name is Sting." He was happy with that and no other questioned ensued. On the way HOME from soccer he asked to listen to the not age appropriate Police. We were listening ( I would love to sing along, but Asa says "NO Mum Mum, it sounds better with out you singing") and Asa asked "Mum, is the singer of the Police, Buzz?" I laughed and said no honey, it's STING! I'm laughing NOW because I just wrote the words, Buzz, Sting and honey. LOL

I get to have my dear Vali today after I get off work. I usually take them grocery shopping and to McDonalds, but I did my shopping yesterday and think that we will fill the kiddie pool on the back deck, let them get wet, and have a picnic. How wonderful life is having our kiddo's together this summer. Last summer was horrible not having Vali here and now life can be difficult and stressful at times, but all is good now that she is home forever. What a blessing Asa and Vali are to us.

Cheers to a wonderful day, it's Wednesday and the weekend is only 2 days away. I think that we will make it:)

LOL!!! This story reminded me of what my husband will ask me when I am singing along with the radio.

Joe - Who sings this song?
Rhonda - Names the artist.
Joe - Then let them sing it ( with a smile on his face)
My husband thinks he is so funny.
