As Asa would say..."Can I get a WOOT WOOT?!"
Best week ever since Grandma's death. I haven't cried since Saturday and it's getting easier and easier. NOT to say that EVERYTHING reminds me of her, but in great ways.
This weeks update.
Saturday was the company picnic at the zoo. We had fun, even though no one from Joshua's branch was there. We mingled with a few people, but enjoyed our little family. Asa went from exhibit to exhibit, holding the map, and telling us where to go. We would get to one animal exhibit, he would see, and then after a second, say "penguins, next exhibit, it's this way". He actually took us to every animal using the map. We just followed and shook our heads in amazement. The picnic had a hosted bar, and anyone knowing me knows that I love beer. So here is me, double fisting because the line was so long, I didn't want to have to wait in line for more. I make Joshua so proud.
We pretty much spent time at Sissy's, putting up a swing set, a garden swing, and a patio tent. Her place is definitely summer party central. My yards are looking great too, thanks to Papa. He is our groundskeeper and a great one at that. I'm so bless to have my family near by.
I broke down in California and got Asa squirt guns. He has been using his imagination using objects around the house that look like "blasters" (that's what we call them). He loves them. I was very unsure about having them for him to play with, but he loves them and has been very respectful.. I think it's just instilled in them that they like those things. We have fun looking for bad guys in the house. We walk very stealth and find them everywhere:) Yesterday it wasn't enough to look for them in the house, we had to go in the front yard. Oh my goodness...I'm sure I looked like a fool, with a squirt gun, pointing at the neighbors cars pretending they were bad guys. Asa kept telling me to cover him, so I'm running and running. About 20 minutes into it (out of breath) I'm thinking a neighborhood friend would really come in handy about now.
ONE last Asa story, so bear with me. Asa and I were eating dinner last night. I made some Kung Pau noodles with Szechwan tofu. I didn't taste test before serving. I sat down to chow, and they were SO SPICY. Coughing, CHOKING spicy. Before I could tell Asa, he has a mouthful. His eyes start to water, and he says "LECHE!" He drank and drank milk but continued to eat the noodles and tofu. He told me they were good, but next time not to make them spicy. He was finishing up, and spilled his milk on the table. He said quickly "Mum, that looks like the milky way". Where do they come up with this stuff? Again, maybe too much science channel.
The weekend here is going to be HOT! We are spending it at Sissy's. Like always I guess;) The pool is clean and ready to go. This year I actually get to swim. Last year, when my toe was broke (Sissy, stop rolling your eyes) I couldn't swim. I am going to have so much fun swimming with Asa this year.
I am loving life right now, and so thankful for all that I have in my life. I don't know what I've done to deserve it.
Happy weekend to all!

I am with Asa WOOT WOOT! Hooray for the weeknd. The Zoo sounds like a lot of fun and its great that Asa can read a map, I still struggle with that one. Even something as simple as a zoo map.
Cute Asa stories! Have a fantastic weekend!
I am laughing, picturing you and Asa sneaking around the front yard with water guns. That must have been so much fun. You are such a fun Mom.
You broke your toe (eye roll). I WAS rolling my eyes, so it was very hard to keep quiet and not laugh out loud to wake up Valentina! I LOVE being Summer Party Central, my nickname from now will be SPC. I hear that I was quite, um, "crabby" last year? Then again, you weren't so happy yourself, Miss-I-Broke-My-Toe-And-My-Summer-Is-Ruined. I had a WONDERFUL time tonight, thank you for coming over with my son, it was very generous of you to share him with me, heehee. Magic Man, now you see him ~arm wave~ now you don't.
have fun this weekend:)
