The week went surprisingly well, and pretty quick. Our weekend is packed with more fun doings and looking forward to that.
Wednesday, my vehicle broke down at the grocery store. I usually take the kids with me, and so glad that Sissy had them that afternoon. I still don't know what's wrong with it, but will probably have it towed to the shop this afternoon....maybe I'll procrastinate and do it on Monday when Josh can do it. I keep telling myself it's only a car and not to worry...The thing is, I've been wanting to get rid of it for the last couple of months...and yes....get a van. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS WOULD I THOUGHT I WANTED A MINI VAN!! Once you go there, you never go back.
I had my dear Valentina yesterday afternoon. She was a bit of a challenge. She is so adorable and I love her persistent attitude. She is a diva, and adorable. After Asa and I took her home, I wanted to play outside with Asa, but he just wanted to relax indoors. At about 6 pm, he yawned and said he wanted to go to bed. I said, let's go! "No mum mum, I want you to rock me". I did, and he was asleep in less than a minute....for the night. He is getting awful big, and he beginning to not fit in the rocker with me. I loved it though. I put him in his bed, and I was on my way to bed at 10pm. All the lights were off, and I turned the hallway light to check on him in his room, and he wasn't there. OMG! I stood there for a minute and rushed into my room. He was standing there next to my bed in the dark, with his head laying on my bed. He said "Mum, I want to lay in your bed". I asked him how long he had been there, and he wouldn't answer. He went to sleep immediately once I put him in bed. I think being with Valentina had wiped him out.
Today is going to be fun...after I get off work of course. We are grilling at my house, and having margaritas. It is supposed to be in the 80's which is great, however not great for my seasonal allergies. They are pretty bad right now. I think that Sissy is suffering from them too. Global warning. That is my answer to anything negative.
Asa had been playing with his GI Joe action figures a lot lately. He has such an imagination and I love to hear him role playing with his guys. It's always bad guys vs. good guys. A while back, he was asking me why bad guys were bad guys. I just said because bad guys don't like good guys. It's been brought up SO MANY TIMES!! You have NO IDEA how persistent Asa is about getting answers that make sense to him. He does not accept "just because". He hasn't accepted my answer about bad guys, so he finally asked Josh. Josh's answer " Asa, bad guys are bad guys. You don't have to worry about bad guys, because bad guys are in jail." Asa's next question "Why are they in jail?" Josh's reply "bad guys are in jail because they didn't have parents that loved them". Now Asa always tells me that he's a good guy because he has parent's that love him.
Our little family is going to Josh's company picnic at the zoo tomorrow. It has been there the last 3 years. Asa is going to LOVE it. He is just the right age, and he is so excited. He has been saving his money and he is excited that he can spend it anyway he wants too on any souvenir. I love the picnic because the beer and wine flow freely:) Now THAT'S a picnic. Last year, for those of you don't know, I broke my toe the week before the picnic and I couldn't walk on it. Josh insisted that we go, so we rented a wheel chair at the zoo. The only wheel chair left to rent, was an extra large. It was pretty humiliating. I'm laughing so hard right now writing this, because it was pretty embarrassing at the time. The wheel chair was so wide that Asa sad next to me! LOL Josh pushed us the entire time, through all the exhibits. I'm pretty sure you all know how many hills and dips there are at zoo's and it was damn hot. Josh was sweating so hard, and since he was pushing right behind me, I kept hearing him say how heavy we were, and he was going to die of heat exhaustion. He was breathing so hard....it was hilarious. After we got back to the car....he just sat at the steering wheel, still sweating. I asked him yesterday if we could rent a wheel chair again. He just stared at me blankly and shuddered.
