TGIF and GO ROCKETS!

Yesterday, I went to Sissy's for a bit before I had a doctors appointment. I held Vali while Asa fed her a bottle. Vali went to sleep in my arms, and Asa cuddled in next to me, and I dozed off for about 20 minutes. It was heaven for me. I love our kiddos. After the doctors appointment, Asa and I went on a long trike ride. It was such fun, and good exercise. On our way back from our ride, Sissy called to see where we were, and her and Vali met up with us on the stroller. What a great afternoon.

Asa hurt my feelings last night. I was laying him in bed, and he was kicking and screaming at me. I asked him to use his words to tell me what was wrong. He looked at me, and yelled "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" I was devastated. I left his room, and cried. We don't talk like that, and it took me by surprise. I told Joshua, and Joshua said "you're probably bugging him, leave him alone". More crying. About 5 minutes later, Asa came out of his room. He pulled me aside and reminded me that I told him, after we put his PJ's on, he could stay up for a bit longer. I had forgotten. I'm still feeling guilty. I will never forget the way he said that to me, and realized that he is growing up so quickly. I won't always be his best friend, and someday another woman will whisk him away from me. It makes my heart break.

Asa's first soccer game is tomorrow. It's supposed to rain. He is very excited knowing that after one more night of sleep, he gets to play soccer again. GO ROCKETS!!

We are going to Seattle on Sunday to visit old friends. Joshua lived there for quite some time, and we are excited to take Asa to the big city.

I hope that you will all be able to live, laugh and love this weekend.

Oh Sissy, sometimes I think boys are harder than girls when it comes to that. I am also waiting for the day that my son becomes my brother-in-law. Meaning that brooding, moody teenager. I just want him to stay this age forever. I know it hurt, but Asa loves you SO much. I hate it when men are so simple, and yet, so right. You guys may not talk that way, but he's around other kids now. And it sounds like he's one smart cookie, so he probably just picked it up somewhere. You will ALWAYS be his Mum Mum!!

Can't wait to see pictures from today!

Those first comments are tough to swallow for sure! I think Im getting hardened, lol. Silly, Sweet, Sassy Six year old....gotta love her...especially when she realizes, and apologizes. Her personality is just blossoming, and sometimes I think we are walls to bounce stuff off of to see how it works. Humor saves me sometimes. Don't take it personal. He loves YOU! ~t
