Asa, Asa, Asa

Potting training update. He is totally trained. No accident of any kind in 4 weeks. Instead of sitting on the potty for about 40 minutes, he is now going when he actually has to go. There is still a lot of drama and craziness when it's going on, but only takes less than 5 minutes to go. YIPPEE!!

He had his first Opthomolgist appointment yesterday. He will have to have surgery for his pluged punctum (tear duct). He may have actually been born with out one, since the watering and infections have pretty much going on since he was a baby. He will be under for less than an hour, and a flexible tube will be inserted in through the tear duct, and into the nasel passage. The tube will continue to stay there for a few months after scar tissues has grown around the tube, and the tear duct will hopefully stay open for the rest of his life. Advice to anyone that has had this same problem with your own children, the doctors and all the research that I have done, recommends that if this is a problem, it is a much easier procedure when a child is under 1. I am pretty much at ease with this since he has already had 2 past surgeries and his tummy was a little upset after the 2nd one, HOWEVER, the doctor said that recovery is very quick (1 day) and his eye and nose will bleed for about 1 day. THAT makes me uneasy. Me seeing blood coming out of those spots will pretty much make me a nervous wreck! His surgery is April 17.

Last night after praying, Asa asked me if we could take a space shuttle to see God, since God lives in outer space. I said no, I wish we could. He then replied "oh...is it too expensive???

I get to baby sit Vali today, not sure what we're going to do, but we will have fun.

Easter is coming up. Last weekend I got the 2 Easter baskets done. I believe it was the funnest thing I have ever done. (with the exception of attending Oregon Brewfest) Having Valentina has made everything so much more fun. Not taking a way from Asa, but them enjoying holidays and presents together is priceless.

Asa's first soccer practice is Saturday. His little shin guards and long socks are possible the cutest things in the world!!! His socks look more like thigh highs then knee socks. His soccer shorts are size 24 months, and they still hit his knees. His shirt will probably go to his knees. I'm POSITIVE that he will be the littlest one there, as the start age is 3 1/2 (he isn't quite) to 4 1/2. Joshua told me when he was young and in soccer that they made a special award for him....Longest t shirt award.

Write to you all tomorrow!!!

Asa good luck with your soccer practice! Do you play indoor or outdoor soccer?
Trina I have several nieces and nephews and a few of them were born without or with closed tear ducts, they are all in their 30's and 40's now and all have functioning tear ducts,I will hold Asa up in prayer on the day of his surgery.
Have a great holiday weekend, between Good Friday and Purim and then Easter you will be busy all weekend long!

Good job on the potty training! We're so proud of Asa. We will be praying for Asa when he has his surgery. Asa is such a doll. I loved how he wanted to take a space shuttle to go see God. Children are so precious. We're going to wait to celebrate Easter until Tandy and Kiara come back from their trip to Oregon. You sound like you have a very busy weekend coming up. Have lots of fun! I wish we could be there to see Asa play soccer. Love you!
