We are going to sissy's for the game today. We didn't see Valentina yesterday so it will be so nice to see her today. Aunt Anita and I, and Asa had a busy fun day yesterday. We went to eat chinese food, and Asa ate an entire serving of Sweet and Sour chicken. He's never even wanted to TRY it before, so it's nice to know that we can go out for chinese and he will like something other than steamed rice.
Then we went to the mall and I got a great deal on some leisure wear (ie. sweat pant, sweat shirt) earrings, and of course I had to get Asa a power ranger cell phone at the disney store, to match the cute pj's that Aunt Anita got for Asa.
THEN, we got home, and made caramel popcorn. I remember Anita making the best caramel popcorn, however, I was in charge of making the Caramel, and i cooked it toooooo long, and it hardened up so bad, that the popcorn was inedible. bummer:( We are going to try it again today, and hopefully learned our lesson.
Mom got Asa a "Bear in the big blue house" DVD about going potty. He listens intently, and likes it, however, still going pee and poo in his diapers. I'm getting discouraged about the potty training. Any ideas?
Asa found a old drivers license of Josh's, brought it me and said "becareful with this Mum Mum, it's daddy's passport." HOW DOES HE KNOW WHAT A PASSPORT LOOKS LIKE, and how does he know the word PASSPORT??? Everyday is an adventure.
Well, this was a boring post. At least I have pictures.
Go Patriots!

Ok, this is the Chia pet that Asa had to have. We got it for him at Christmas. this is Chia dead. Now, he didn't look any better when it was "thriving and green". I had it in my kitchen window, and everyday, the "hair" would be "windswept' to the direction of the sun. He always looked like he was a dog with his head out the window of a fast moving vehicle. Asa just came in and looked at this picture and said "mom, Chia is gross!" LOL
a different view of Chia. Don't be fooled by commercials.

the powder incident. Picture doesn't show the extent of damage.

that is quite possibly THE cutest pic of Asa in a loooong time, maybe ever!!!!
Super cute pictures of Asa! And I love his snowman pajamas. My son is 6 now, and I miss him wearing the footie pj's.
Potty Training - by far my least favorite parenting experience!!! Like Asa, my son was super smart too (ok, I know EVERY mom thinks her kid is really smart - but ours really are!!)and I KNEW that he was capable of potty training - he just refused. We tried so many things 1.Offering a sticker/candy after each time going in the potty 2. Setting the timer and taking him every 10-15 minutes. (Seriously I would sit him on the potty and he would wait until he got up and left the bathroom to go pee!!)3. Putting him in underwear and taking him often (Um yeah, I just ended up cleaning up LOTS of messes)In the end I think it just happened when he was finally ready. We did end up with a rewards system (he was in to YuGiOh cards of all things) that worked - but ultimately, I think it just has to be their idea and they have to be ready and willing. He was 3 years and 4 months before he was potty trained. Good luck to you - I know it isn't fun!
