Walking over the sand dune to the beach.
Asa has been at the beach before, but he was a bit cautious at first. He asked me if there were crabs under the sand that were going to bite his toes. After I told him "no" he was fine.
Papa and Asa played a lot together in the sand.
Valentina was running and fell right away. She didn't cry though. She loved the sand and the ocean. She liked getting wet. 
The water is FREEZING! Your feet get numb after a few minutes. Valentina and Asa didn't mind it at all.
Asa "accidentally" fell in the water, so we had to take his pants off.
"OK...what do I do now"

She filled this bucket up after about 10 minutes. She was scooping just the tiniest 1/4 teaspoons full of sand into the bucket.

What fun!! Looking at the kids playing in the water made me feel cold. We went for a walk down by the lake today and froze.

I LOVE the beach. You got some great pictures and it looks like you had an awesome time. I love the picture of papa and Asa in the sand together. Isn't it wonderful to watch your dad with your son - one of my favorite things!

I love the Beach. My sister and her grown kids live in Newport. also my youngest daughter does too.
My dad and step mom are buried there.

It was kind of funny - the beach we went to in California was "Newport" as well...Amanda and I were trying to figure out how you all went to California and back, in that short amount of time...
