This week sped by...we're talking crazy speed. I slept in 2 days this week and today I didn't get out of bed until after 11am. That's pretty sick. I have made a pact with myself that I will get up before 8:30am every day. Since being off work, it has been nice to sleep in past 5:45am, but this is getting out of control. Asa's schedule is revolving too. He drags himself out of bed at around 8:30 and then crawls into bed with us for another 1/2 hour. LAZY.
It was a nice break, but now it's time for spring cleaning and removing the old (crap) and then hitting early spring yard sales and add room for the new (crap).
Yesterday Joshua and I needed to paint some trim and doors in the house. We set up our paint and supplies in the dining area. It took some time to prep the doors with tape and set the drop cloths down and Asa was beginning to get impatient, asking every 5 minutes or so, when were we going to start painting. He was very excited to help with painting and had had his paintbrush picked out hours earlier. The paint was finally mixed, I filled a small bucket for myself and Asa and walked down the hallway into Asa's bedroom, where we were going to start in on Asa's door. I set the paint down and heard Asa running around in the living room, "Asa! lets get painting!" I yelled from his room. I was so a happy to let him finally know it was time to paint! Joshua was in the hallway, making a repair on the wall. I started painting and in a second I heard Joshua yell "ASA!!!! OH NO ASA!!" I peeked around the bedroom door and standing there was Asa, paintbrush and hand covered and dripping in white paint. My eyes fell from Asa's hand to the wood floor and I saw a puddle of white paint at his feet. I must have looked shocked because I looked at Asa's face and he slowly started to cry. Asa started to cry and I just looked at Joshua and he looked back at me. Joshua picked up Asa and I followed the stream of white paint that lead right back into the dining area, where my supplies were. He had dipped his brush in the big bucket of paint. I was able to clean it up fairly quickly and Asa stopped crying. Asa's hand was dripping with paint and he ran through the house with it, but he didn't get a drop of paint on his clothes. That's some Benjamin Button shit. Asa painted for about 30 seconds and was done.
Steelers..er..I mean Superbowl party at our house Sunday. Fun, fun, fun.
I escaped my boys long enough today to make a special trip to see Valentina today. I hadn't seen her for a couple of days and she hasn't been feeling good. She wasn't over joyed to see me. For a while there, she would bust a move for me when she saw me coming through the door and sqeal my name. I felt like a celebrity and she my adoring paparrazi. Now I come in the door, I make eye contact with her, I have a huge BOZO grin on my face and she squints at me and growls "noooo". She's such a stinker. She was wearing blue today and she looks fabulous in blue. Sissy was wearing blue too:) Side story-Cameo and Valentina wear color coordinated separates during the day. No joke. Sissy says that she doesn't do it on pupose, but then notices later on in the day that they match. Today Valentina was wearing dark blue shirt, lighter blue pants. Sissy was wearing dark plue pants and a lighter blue shirt. Wednesday, Valentina was wearing a dark pink shirt with darker pink pants and Sissy was wearing darker pink pants and a lighter pink t shirt. Wierd. Same to be said for black, red and white. I didn't see them at all yesterday but am pretty sure they were matching.
