TGIF

Another week over. It's funny. We want the week to go faster and weekends to last longer and overall, we complain that time passes us by too quick. Just a thought.

Please continue to pray and/or keep good thoughts for my friend JuJu and her family.

Yesterday, Mom talked to me over the phone and asked me if Asa had gotten himself ready for bed on his own. Yes, he does put on his own pull ups and PJ's on while I get the bathroom prepped for teeth brushing and other things. I love it. I don't have to fight him running away from me and it makes him feel really independent and confident. I asked Mom why she asked me that? As she was getting him ready for his day, she saw that his pull up was on over his underwear! That visual has made me chuckle for the last couple of days. It also brought up a memory of when Asa was a newborn. He slept next to me in a bassinet for the first couple of months. I breast fed every couple of hours and felt like a robot. I could do it in my sleep with my eyes closed , pick him up, nurse, change a diaper, lay him back down and then start over again in a couple of hours, all the while trying to get a few hours of sleep in. One morning I started the routine, picked him up, nursed and as I was ready to change his diaper I realized that I had put a diaper OVER his sleeper and left the wet diaper on under the sleeper. LOL I was too tired at the time to laugh, but now I can when I remember that.

My week has gone better than anticipated and Asa had done very well, being away from me full days. From what I'm told , his caregivers (hehehe) have told me that he has been an angel with no time outs too! I'm very relieved. We have enjoyed our time together in the evenings too.

I just love my little family and have realized that fall is kind of nice now. Time slows down a bit. I have more time to cook and not so rushed getting fast food for dinner and scrambling being busy with summer. I have always made an effort for us to all eat at the dinner table. Breakfast lunch and dinner. It is the only time that we all actually sit and talk with each other. During summer, with BBQ's and sandwiches and such we weren't consistent. With fall in full swing, we are back to our table routine. I just sit and smile at my boys. I'm so lucky.

I have even decorated for Halloween. I thought Asa would like to help me, but he doesn't. He does tell me what I've done looks nice and festive. He gets that from Joshua. He always notices when I put an effort into things.

Tomorrow is soccer Saturday. It's my mother in laws birthday and will probably have a get together at my house and I'm hoping we will have time to go to the pumpkin patch. No heavy rain in the forecast so that will be perfect. The pumpkin patches get really muddy and no fun as it's the season for rain here. The I'm hoping to help the kids do some crafts and pumpkin painting in the evening. Sunday, Mom is going to help me have a yard sale. We don't have any room in the garage for new junk that I collect, so we need to get rid of the old junk.

I have missed my Valentina this week. She has been sick and with me working until later, I don't see her when I pick up Asa. I have talked to her a few times on the phone and she says my name so cute "T T"! She sounds like she is missing me and she won't give the phone up when she talks to me. I heard mom on several occasion telling her to "give me the phone" and each time Vali yells NO! After a few minutes, as Vali is talking to me, I hear mom in the backround "Trina, you'll just have to hangup, she won't give up the phone". I would never hang up on her, but I was at work and HAD to hang up on her! Mom asked me later "did you have up on Vali?" I felt horrible. I love her so much and she just makes me laugh all the time. I am hoping that I can catch up on some time with her and can't wait til she feels better and she can come over to my house and play. That girls has some personality, let me tell you. Just like her Mama.

My mood is good. I've been a little "up" but I think I've had to be to get through the week. I will probably continue to ride a little high over the weekend, but think I'll level out before the week starts again. It's a relief.

The sun is out today after a week of rain and things are great for us. I can't wait until we all convene on the soccer field tomorrow and start another fun family weekend.

Shake N Bake!
