Friday evening, Sissy ran a couple of errands with me and we decided to go to the craft store. We had the kids and we all looked like scallywags. Sissy and Asa especially:) We got the things that we needed for my pumpkin crafts that we had planned for Saturday at my house. The kids were great. Asa loves Halloween this year. He isn't afraid of the scary things and loves ghosts. Cute friendly ones. Sissy got him an Asa sized stuffed ghost. He is cute and his name is Ghostie. Asa sleeps with him. They are buds. Valentina loves EVERYTHING when we shop and she cries when she doesn't get it. It's really cute. The kids got a lot of stuff from the craft store is what I'm trying to say.
Saturday we had a 12pm soccer game. We were missing 3 of our players, so the 4 kids that showed up, got to play the entire game. We were lucky enough to watch Asa play the whole 40 minutes. He was pretty tired. He scored more goals than I can count, and he had 2 blocks and after both blocks, he ran up the field and made a goal each time. Our entire team did great and I'm getting pretty attached to our team. They are adorable.
After the game, we went to the Old Spaghetti Factory and it was a special treat because Papa wasn't working and we all got to go together to lunch, sans Joshua though. It's always sans Joshua. We had a fun lunch, went home to wake and pick up Josh and we headed out to the pumpkin patch. That was fun. Really fun. We didn't go to the traditional pumpkin patch, where you get the hayride to the muddy pumpkin patch, pick out your pumpkin, haul it by hand for a mile and then pay $20. for it. We have done that every year in the past and decided (mom actually did) that we would try something more low key. We found a nursery not far from our house, but somewhat in the country. They had a bunch of picked pumpkins laid about. It looked very festive. As we were driving up to the parking lot I said to Josh "Look! There's some people here, how fun!" After getting close I realized it was our clan! Asa immediately got a wagon and wasted no time on picking his perfect pumpkins. He didn't want help, he could "do it by myself!" Valentina didn't like it at all. She had her furrowed eyebrow look the entire time and did her fair share of whining. I thought it was cute, but I also didn't have to care for her at the time. Asa on the other hand loved it. I will always remember him running around with that wagon trying to lift up pumpkins that weighed more than he did. It was by far the best pumpkin patch I've ever had. I love those kids.
After the patch, we headed to our house to do some painting and pumpkin crafts. Valentina didn't much care for that either. She tried not to be a fun wrecker did do some painting though. All of us doing crafts was pretty fun. My family makes me laugh. We made some masterpieces and some duds (uncle norm).
Sunday Mom came over early and we had a yard sale. She helped me so much. All day selling and cleaning and we made $40. Josh said it was $40 more than we had at the beginning of the day. We had very few customers. So many people would just do the yard sale "drive by" where they just pull up in front of the yard, peer down and then wrinkle up their nose and speed off. So when someone WOULD get out, all 3 of us (mom went home for a while since we weren't bombarded with customers) would rush outside and try our best to sell our wares. Asa sold the most. He was trying to earn enough money to buy Bendaroo's that are sold on TV. Even though we weren't selling very much, Josh kept rummaging through his office and always found some small electronic item that he could part with. It was a rush. I called mom once and told her that we had our biggest sale. $8.00. She said "oh, you all must be giddy!". We were. Josh kept looking through the house for "big ticket items". I finally said "NO MORE" after he threatened to get rid of my desk. He said that he would just use it as a teaser to put near the road so it would lure more customers to come our way. I told mom, we spent all day at our yard sale and only have $40. to show for it. Then I laughed and said she had spent all day at our yard sale and had NO money:) We were going to get rid of all the stuff we didn't sell and cart if off to the thrift store, but after having such a fun day selling, we decided to keep most of it and have another one in the spring. The yard sale bug has bitten us.
Here are some photos:

Vali trying not to be a fun wrecker
These were the fruits of our labor. It think that they turned out adorable.

Asa's "stormtrooper", Norm's "wolf man" (it looked more like a kitten and we were giving Norm a hard time about it. Then when Vali saw it she said "kitty". He didn't argue with us after that) Norm's "ghost" and Mom's "black gourd".
Josh liked the shape of the gourd and I made a bat stencil an painted my pumpkin.
I made this by myself. It took me three hours. Josh was pretty impressed.

Those are some fine looking pumpkin creations, you guys sure know how to have fun.I even like the pink and blue splatter pumpkin in that one picture. I love that you dressed them in orange for their trip to the farm... Valentina might still not be feelign all that well from her illness last week. I love your bats, those wings are great did you use that foamy sheets in black to create them?
Hugs to all

You are so freaking crafty! I love the bats!!! I love the pics, Cameo said that V was crabby...you can totally tell in the pics. But she is a cute grouch:)
Sorry about the garage sale, we tried to have one awhile back...we ended up taking everything to goodwill. I think craigs list has ruined g-sales!
First, you guys are too much with the crafts.... LORD! I would so not think to do that! FUN!
I love the pumpkin pics... Asa is as handsome as ever!
YOU, my dear, are gorgeous in those hoop earrings and bangs... so fresh like out of a magazine! I love it!
Woohoo! What a fun weekend you all had. Those pumpkins are freaking awesome! I love the bats. You are so damn crafy, like Martha Stewart crafty. The pumpkin patch pics of the kids are adorable!
Those Bats are adorable. Trina you really showed you talents with your witch. Using orange peel, great idea.
And most importantly, GO ASA, Soccer Boy.
THOSE BATS ARE ADORABLE!!!! How did you think of them? SO CUTE!!!! And I have to say that I LOVE Asa's storm trooper gourd! Great job Asa! I knew right away what it was! I'm SO HAPPY he loved that costume! Every time he wears it it makes me happy! ;<)
Your witch was amazing! You are very artsy! (is that a real word?heehee)
Anyway, my point, GREAT JOB!!
How can you decorate pumpkins, take care of the kids (they're adorable), and have a yard sale. I've been trying to clean my bedroom for the last three weeks, and I still haven't. As for a yard sale, it's easier to mark the boxes "Shoes to donate", "Clothes to donate",etc. And then take them to the Thrift Store which I haven't. You are the best. Love you, Aunt Margo
