The weekend started out fabulous. Friday we went out to lunch for Asa's birthday. He wanted Thai, so we went to our new fave hangout. After that, we did yard work to get ready for Asa's birthday and I cleaned like crazy. Saturday was a busy day too. It started out with Asa's soccer game and Grama was able to go. More cleaning and moving table and such. Thank you to Mama and Papa for all their help. They are amazing. I couldn't' have done it with out them, and I also loved hanging' with my mom. It's rare that I have her to myself so that was a treat. Sunday was just getting food ready and having Asa's party. Asa had great fun with my friend Danita's boys. Asa calls them his family. So cute. Thank you to all that came and help celebrate. On to pictures.
At lunch on Friday. My boy is so big.
My favorite girls. So "pretty" as Vali would say
Asa giving love to
Vali and her not yelling "NO!" to him. She actually looks like she is enjoying it, but moving away.

Asa's smoothie is almost as big as he is.

Funny picture of Papa. He said he didn't like the food, but he always picks off everyone
elses plate after he has eaten his food. Mom and I laughed like crazy! Asa was being pretty stingy with his satay and wouldn't share with Papa. He did share with
Vali, but it was a partially eaten one. He kept the big one for himself.
OK, this came up twice, not sure how to delete it, so here are the pretty girls again.
My beautiful parents.
Me and my birthday boy. Poor daddy never gets to have fun, because he is either working or sleeping.
OK, another duplicate. Anyone know how to delete a picture once it's on the post?
Saturday, Asa's game. He scored 2 goals, but we still got creamed. There was a boy on the other team that was about 6 feet tall and he couldn't be stopped.
Asa

His favorite gifts of the day.

Never pointing at peoples head....most of the time. He forgets sometimes. He has worn this costume 4 days in a row now. At least it's giving the Blue Ranger costume a rest. Not so cute after 2 weeks of wear.

Josh was chasing
Vali trying to get some candid shots. She was squealing as he was chasing her. I love how her little nose squished up and her dimples show.

The party givers. Exhausted after the busy weekend.

Asa trying to knock
Vali down. She's pissed as you can tell.

More of Joshua chasing
Vali.

Finally caught. How adorable is THAT?

Josh likes taking self portraits. I guess because he never gets his picture taken with us.

A family portrait.
Asa looks happy doesn't he?

Duplicate.
AGHGHGHGH!

My cutie.

The melted cake. It was hot out, and I had put the cake outside. I had finally moved it inside the house, but it was too late. Asa put the candle in. Appetizing isn't it?

Asa thinking he is super cool in his Jeep, blasting bad guys.

He would ride for a while and then get out of the jeep and start blasting bad guys, then hurry back into the jeep, drive a few feet and do it again. Again, the costume cracks me up.

Valentina getting in on the action. Notice her pretty party dress with Asa's old Elmo shoes. When she comes over and needs an extra set of anything she gets to wear Asa's old hand me downs.

The shoes kind of take away from the pretty party dress. She originally had cute little anklets and white party shoes on. Not sure what happened, but as you can tell, the dress and shoes slowly came off and she was running shirtless with one of Asa's night time pulls ups, as show in previous pictures.

"no....I didn't get in the cake Mum. I'm not fibbing."

Me trying to take a picture of the cake, but noticed little fingers dipping in the cake. It's blurry because I'm tackling him while trying to still take a picture.

Sissy made cut out cookies for the kids to decorate at the party. What a mess, but they liked it.

Asa concentrating on decorating his cookie. He isn't the best artist. Danita's boys cookies were so cute and Asa just had a huge blog of frosting in the middle, but you couldn't even see that due to the sprinkles that were piled on about 3 inches thick. Someone had mentioned that he was trying to give it a 3D effect.
Vali doing very well on her cookie.

My kids.

Uncle Norm on his Blackberry. He was sitting as far away from us as possible.

Food table. After the party it looked like a storm has passed through. My co worked said that after parties, she holds a big black garbage bag at one of the table and just uses her arm to slide it all in the bag. Serving bowls and all. She goes and buys dollar tree serving bowls and plates so she thinks of the as disposables. Kind of a cool idea! Maybe next time.

My pretty palms. They are hard to keep up here in the NW, as it rains all the time, so I'm proud of them.

Picture of cake before the melting.
Yesterday we had to exchange his blaster for another one after the first blaster petered out on us after the party. They didn't have any more of the same one, so he had to upgrade to a more expensive one. He used his own money from his birthday though. He has had his eye on it for quite awhile, but I tell him it's too expensive. As he was looking at it on the way home, he said "mum, I'm so happy. I've been wanting this blaster for years and I finally got it."
That was our weekend in pictures. Thank you all for your birthday wishes and gifts that were sent to Asa on his birthday. I feel so honored that he has so many people that care and love him. People that haven't even met us, but still took the time to email/send gifts. It really is touching, so thank you.
I had mentioned that Asa loves the "Upside Down Show". As it turns out, I was corrected by an anonymous comment, stating that is isn't British, but Australian. It turns out after a few more comments regarding the show, that the Upside Down shows executive producer had left the comment and wished Asa a happy birthday as well. You can go back and read the comments if you are interested in how it came about. Interesting, eh?
See you all on Friday!

Yay! I have seriously been waiting for this post for days! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the pics and it looks like it was a fabulous party. I seriously want to be a member of your family. Asa looks adorable in his outfit with his blaster. Valentina is precious and you all looks awesome! I, too, enjoy taking self-portraits -- maybe its a midwest thing? LOL.
I have the receipt for that blaster. I hope you got full credit for it. If not, let me know and I'll give you the receipt. Sorry it petered out on you! I am so happy he loved it and the costume though!
I love you guys!
Great party.. you guys must be the ultimate party throwers!! looks like a fun time was had by all, and look at the smile on Asa's face! Did he score bigtime with friends and presents, how lucky can a four year old be. You guys are great you should start a pre-school, you have the talent and with the two little ones you have the training..

XOXO
Tell Beya that I think she is so pretty. And tell Cameo she is chopped liver. (KIDDING! I love you Cam!!!!!)
It looked like a really nice party. I'm always a bitchy WRECK the 2 days before. I get a lot of anxiety having company. Until they come over, and then I'm totally fine. :-)
