The Best TGIF Ever!

My baby boy is officially 4 years old at this time of 8:58 AM. I'm feeling like such a dorky emotional mom right now and I hope that you all don't get sticky with my sappiness.

As soon as Josh got home this morning, we ran into Asa's room to wake him up. Josh insisted that we give him his big present instead of saving it for his party on Sunday. Josh said "ASA IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, YOU'RE 4!". Asa looked a little confused, looked at me and said "Mum, I'm I 4 today? I'm I 4 right NOW?" I said "yup". He got a huge grin on his face and said "YIPPEE!" He opened his present and got his big Optimus Prime Transformer that he has wanted. He asked me where I got it at, and I told him. He said "oh yeah, that's where I saw them, but they were very expensive, how did you afford that?"

OK, if anyone is reading this, you can skip over this. It's for my Asa. One day he wil be able to read this and I want to document how I am feeling on this day.

Asa. I am so proud of you. You are growing into such a sweet, polite confident boy. I want you to know how I love you so much, but everyday my love for you grows and I don't know how it can, because everyday it feels like my heart is going to explode. When you say thank you after I get you some "awa", when you walk into the house after a long day of errands and you say "oh, it's good to be home", when I lay next to you in bed before you go to sleep and you pop your head up and kiss me on my forehead and tell me you love me, when you sing along to The Police and know all the words but won't let me sing, when you run away from me at the store and giggle thinking it's funny that I had to leave my cart where it's at and run after you, when you fib and say you didn't eat a cookie, but I can see cookie schrapnel all over your mouth AND when you sweetly ask me for candy knowing full and well I'm going to cave in and give it to you after you ask me for it 20 times, THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT MAKE ME SO HAPPY THAT I BECAME A MOTHER! You helped daddy and me grow up, appreciate the little things and feel emotions that we had never felt. You are truly special in every way and I want you to take comfort in the fact that we will always love you unconditionally. You are 4 today and I can't wait to see how you grow and learn in this next year. Happy Birthday baby boy!

I was very excited about Survivor starting last night. It's one of the few family friendly shows that Asa can watch with us. I had told Asa that he was going to be able to stay up late (he took a 3 1/s hour nap with Papa yesterday) and how lucky he was to stay up and watch TV. We got about 20 minutes into Survivor and he turns to me and says "Mum, I don't really want to watch this. If I get to stay up and watch TV , I'd rather watch my own shows on your bed watching your TV." I looked at him like he had 2 heads. I was devastated thinking that he would rather watch the weird British comedy duo (Upside Down show, no offense to my fellow British blogger friends) instead of hang out with his cool mom. Survivor wasn't as fun after that, but I did chuckle when I heard him in the other room, laughing and giggling at his shows.

I thank all my dear blogger buddies who have given me advise and support while I'm suffering from my autumn blues. I have taken all of your comments and am implementing them in my daily doings. Right now I'm feeling great and a little bit high to get through the party weekend, and will probably crash a bit after. But knowing that I might crash a bit? I feel good knowing that at least I know that I can expect it and not feel like it's the end of the world if I do. It will pass.

It's a birthday weekend and we are so blessed to have our kids healthy and strong. Family is everything.

Cheers to you all!

Shake N' BAKE!

The Upside Down Show is actually an AUSTRALIAN production, not British.

Today when I said "Happy Birthday Asa", he told me, "I only had to go to sleep for one more night and then it was my REAL birthday!!" He's so cute and smart. He says the most grown up things and I can totally hear his mommy and daddy when he talks! It's so cute!
Love You Guys!

Happy Birthday ASA! I can't wait to watch you grow up even bigger!

I can definitely feel the love in this post...so sweet.

Well I don't care whether The Upside Down Show is British, Australian or what have you...they can suck a donkey butt for all I care. That show gives me suicidal thoughts.

Hey, I wonder if 'butt' will give you an 'R' rating:)

I have a service to let me know of anything that comes up on the net about The Upside Down Show and that is how I lucked into your blog. It is always fascinating (and very heart-warming) to me to see the people who like the show and why. I am connected with the show (Exec Producer) and that is how I can confidently wish Asa happy birthday from all of us. Cheers from Sydney, Australia! Michael

Asa you are very very special, not many boys get a direct comment and a birthday wish from their favorite show, may the Upside down show live on forever in your memories... perhaps mummum can print it out and put it in your baby book, that way some day you can share it with your children.

Hugs,

I was routed over here from a link from the Umbilical Bros (Upside Down Show boys) site. You wrote such beautiful things to your son. He will love it. My son just turned 4 in September too and that little boy just melts my heart every time! God bless you and your family. PS How gracious of Mr. Bourchier to leave such wonderful comments. Here's another Mom keeping their fingers crossed for a possible Upside Down Show DVD movie!
