Especially when I have to work ALL DAY!! It's going to wipe me out....
The weekend kicked off with a dinner at my house. It was a little cold, but we braved it and ate outside and then finished off in the house. Asa was being a bit stubborn, so he missed part of the festivities, but eventually had to come out of hiding to see his dear Valentina and cousin Nick.
Saturday was busy with swimming lessons in the morning and then getting ready to go to Fiesta Mexicana. We got going earlier than years past so we could see the low rider competition, but we missed it. We did however get to see the winner. The winner was nice enough to let Asa sit and stand on the drivers seat for a photo op. As soon as Asa got in the car he eyed candy in the passenger seat. He snatched them up, showed them to me through the window and said "Mum Mum, there are 2 candies here, can I have them?" As this was mexi gansta territory and not sure if they were indeed candy, I replied quietly "no, put them down quickly". I thought the owner was very nice to allow Asa into his championship low rider.
One of the best parts of the fiesta was spending time with Asa alone, watching the soccer tournament. There were 12 teams from the Mexican Soccer league. We watch them on TV all the time and Asa thought that was quite a treat. After sitting and watching a bit of one team, we would take a snack break, meet up with Sissy or Mom and then head on back to the bleachers. We watched a bit of 3 different games. Asa was really into it, and wouldn't take his eyes of the game. He was animated and nearly hit the people sitting around us as he would wave his arms in the air and cheer. He is so like me.
Asa fell asleep on the way home before 7pm, and Joshua and I followed suit shortly after. It was a very fun and tiring day.
Our Sunday was uneventful, except for taking mom to meet papa in his semi truck. He had to work, and she went with him on his second part of his day. Asa looked terrified as he saw Beya get into that big semi, and when we got back in the truck, Asa said "I don't want Beya to get hurt". He's so sweet and loves his Beya so much.
The rest of the day, Asa and I hung out on the back deck. As you all know, decks have spaces in between the boards, so I followed mom's idea and got a throw rug to put out on the deck when Asa wants to play outside. That way his little toys don't get lost in the cracks. We had a fun lazy day just playing. After spending pretty much all of my Sunday playing with Asa, I escaped to Sissy's and she was kind enough to let me soak in the hot tub. It as great. It really helped my aching back that I've had for about a week. I got to sit...alone...for about an hour. With the exception of Valentina calling me every so often from the french doors that lead to the hot tub. The doors were shut and every once in a while I'd hear a muffled "T T!! T T!!" She is talking so much. It's so fun to hear the new words she says. She is also copying what we say. She is ADORABLE!
The only good thing about Monday is that The Mole is on TV tonight. It think it is the finale and I have NO IDEA WHO THE MOLE IS!!! Pretty sad that a reality TV show is going to be the best part of my day. Oh, and the Mojito that I'm going to drink while WATCHING The Mole:)

"mexi gangsta territory"!!!! That's hilarious! Actually, I felt quite at home!
Oh, I "waffed" about that, too! You are so funny Trina... you should have showed up looking like Chalize Theron in Monster and scared the candy right outta them! lol!
Love ya, girl!
Love this post as always.
Asa is so thoughtful, worrying about Beya. He loves her so much. She is very lucky to have 2 beautiful grandchildren and able to spend so much time with them.
