TGIF

After reading some previous TGIF posts of mine, I realize that we have entirely way too much fun on the weekends. We don't accomplish very much, but just have fun being together. This weekend is no exception.

We are going to the Waterfront in the city to attend the Cinco De Mayo Festival. When? Don't know yet. The matriarch has not decided as of yet. She can't get her hair wet, so it's determined on the weather. I remember last year, being at the festival, aching for Valentina, thinking how much more fun it would be, and hoping hoping hoping that she would be home for next time. That time is finally here, and life couldn't be anymore perfect...yeah, we have our ups and downs, and conflicts and worries, but when it comes down to it, our family is healthy, and Valentina is home with us. We are so incredibly blessed with our children. They kids are going to have a great time, rain or shine. They will be dancing, breaking pinatas, and eating and just running around. ahhhh, bliss

Speaking of Valentina. Holding her yesterday, and smelling her silky hair, and touching her little toes...I just was overwhelmed with love and respect for her. Sissy was quizzing Asa on country flags, ie. Guatemala, Ireland, Mexico and USA. Sissy asked where Valentina was born (hoping to hear Asa say Guatemala, to match the flag) and Asa said "an orphanage". I hugged my Valentina so tight. She is such a blessing to us, so funny, and smart, and such an incredible force in our family. It sent chills up my spine to remember where she came from. I remember thinking, before she came home, what a great thing Sissy was doing by saving this baby from living on the streets and being impoverished and how lucky Valentina will be. WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE HER! She was ours before she was even born. God knew we needed her as much as she needed us. Well, that made a short story long.

It's soccer Saturday again. After that, we will be having homemade Chili Colorado, Mom and Sissy style. It's the best. Luckily, we froze the sauce after spending hours making it the first time.

**WARNING**
Poo story to follow....

Asa has been insisting that he go to the bathroom by himself. He calls me when he is done, so I can wipe. I hear Josh yell "TRINA! HELP ASA!" (Josh over reacts to just about anything, and we are working on that, as I don't want him to scar Asa for life over small things) I go to the doorway of the bathroom, and there is Asa, no bottoms on, with pooey toilet paper stuck all over the bathroom, his shirt and his hands. He had this huge smile and great big eyes looking at me so proud. I smiled and said "Asa! WAY TO GO WIPING ALL BY YOURSELF!" He said "Mum, am I a big boy?" I wanted to say yes you are, and you are making big boy messes too:) What a milestone. I marked it on my calender, and will remember it for the rest of my life. Later on we were laying together in bed, facing each other and we were just smiling at each other. He touched my face and told me that he loved me, and then I just watched him as his eyes got heavy, and he finally went to sleep. Another perfect end to a another perfect day.

I'm at work right now (hell on earth) and only have about 45 minutes to go before my weekend begins. How lucky am I????

Next post I will have tons of CincoDeMayo pictures. I can't wait for our weekend, and getting to be with our little family. Have a great weekend.

SHAKE N BAKE!

Your little Asa is so sweet. He told you good night in such a sweet way. I think I would've had tears rolling out of my eyes. Enjoy your weekend with your fun family.

Oh sissy, you are the BEST TT Valentina could ever dream of! It gave me chills also when Asa said that. Yes, Valentina saved ALL of us, not the other way around. And you didn't tell me the poo story! How did you manage to get one past me? Oh, thanks for telling me what was going on food wise this weekend.... Norm just asked me what we were doing and I told him I had no idea. Now I know, I just need to read your blog to see what we're having at our house! LOL. I love you and GO ROCKETS!!!!!

GO ROCKETS!!! Asa you have a great time at soccer on Saturday.Trina I love your blog you do such cute stories and how precious the way Asa told you he loved you and then felt so safe and secure he fell fast asleep.. you have done a wonderful job with him, and oh my Cameo has done a wonderul job with Valentina, if you look back just a few short months when she brought her home, wow what progress the child excels and Asa I am sure has helped with Valentina's learning and thought process. Yes you as a family are truly blessed, and I am so glad I bumped into the three of you at stamp a stack.
Have a wonderful cinco de mayo weekend.
