Early Mother's Day morning, Asa and I got out of bed, and went to Sissy's to visit with the best Mom ever, and Aunt Anita. We got there, and Mom was watching Valentina while Sissy and Uncle Norm got some shut eye. We spent some time outside and Mom cut Aunt Anita's hair, and I decided I need some help in the hair department. I haven't had my hair trimmed or cut since last August. It's sad that I won't pay someone to do it for me. Mom did a great job, and gave me a very cool, contemporary cut. I love it. I'll explain the con's though in a bit. We all exchanged Mother's day gifts and cards. Sissy got me a great new shirt that I had been eyeing, and Valentina gave me homemade card with her cute little scribbles, and Mom had a gift for me from Asa, a painted wood hanging decoration. LOVED IT ALL! Oh, the day before, Grama Sandi gave me HUGE basked full of fun spa items and I received a check in the mail from my mother in law. I'm so spoiled.
Well, an hour of hanging out, ended up being 5. We went home. Josh wanted Asa bathed and ready, because they had "errands" to run. ie. Shop for card for Mum Mum at the last minute. I never expect anything for holidays, because Josh works so much, and he just does not have time. It doesn't make that much a difference to me either, because I'm told daily that he appreciates me, my cooking , keeping up on the house work and raising our son. Being told that daily easily takes the place of gift every so often. They left, and came back about an hour later. In the past when Josh has hinted that he is going to shop for me, I ask him not to spend more than $10. It kind of adds to the surprise, because one has to be pretty imaginative and skilled to actually do that. Asa walks through the door and tells me that they looked at flower plants for Grama Sandi, Sissy, Beya and Grandma Eleanor but they looked "diedid". No flowers. The thought was sweet though. Josh looked quite please with himself, and then he and Asa locked themselves in the office. A half hour later, they came out just looking pleased as punch. Asa handed me a jewelry box, and inside there were pink butterfly earrings. (I'm pretty sure the $10. limit was exceeded) Josh handed me a card, and the outside said "NUN" in Asa's cute writing. (by the way, Asa can write all of his letter and knows how to spell his name.) It was supposed to say "MUM". I'll treasure that envelope for the rest of my life. Asa kept repeating "Mum, is this the best Mother's Day ever? Is it? " I love my boys so much.
After all that fun and excitement, it was getting close to meet everyone for dinner at Chevy's. We ate, drank and had a great time. Valentina was a bit fussy because she was so sick, but Asa could always make her laugh, and she did great. Mom babysat Asa overnight, so that being said, I got to continue my Margarita drinking. Always a treat.
Like I said before, it was the best Mother's Day ever:)

I made these custom check book covers for all the Mom's in my life. I thought that they turned out pretty cute. Some of the flowers are 3D. I will be posting pictures and price on our Etsy site.

Asa being a Price is Right model, showcasing my crafts. I love the way my kids hair looks in the morning. Actually I just love being able to wake up with him and have alone time.

Mother's Day and my dear boy, and my new haircut. I love my new bangs. The only thing is....my hair is naturally curly, so in the morning, or after the shower, my bangs curl up so tight, that I really do looked like a groomed poodle. You know the ones that have the big curly ball on the top/front of their head. Humidity is going to be my enemy, but I do love how different it is.
NOTE: I'm trying so hard to write this post right now...and Asa has decided that he would like to hang on my arm and ask me a million questions....."Mum, we need to research veins online to see how they look in my body. Mum, we need to do research to see if Speed Racer is age appropriate" No joke. I got to finish this later.

My boy full of kisses for his Mum Mum

Sissy and Uncle Norm.

Josh's Mom, Brother, Asa and Joshua. Josh and his mom look like twins.

Papa, Beya and Valentina...oh, Asa is trying to squeeze in.

Cousin Marty, Miranda and Aunt Anita...Aunt Anita is from Las Vegas. She's very worldly. And tan.

This picture pretty much sum's up how Valentina was feeling Sunday:( Poo

Love Love Love this picture of Papa and Asa. Doesn't Papa look like a youngster?

Josh's brother got a complimentary dessert, because it was also his birthday. Asa started bogarting immediately.

You deserve the best so I am glad you got it. You are so lucky to have a husband that says thank you. Mine does too and it is worth more than the bought gifts.
