Happy New Years Eve

I started back to work last Wednesday and getting back into the groove. It has been an adjustment on our entire family, and hardest on Asa. He was becoming quite the mama's boy. I miss him terribly in the morning though. I loved waking up late, and cuddling together and us having our morning drinks at sissys. Oh well.....it was a nice break.

Last night all 8 of us went to dinner at Azteca. Everytime I go there, I always promise my self I'm never going again. The service is never great. Asa and Valentina sat next to each other and of course needed constant supervision. They are so good to each other, but things CAN get out of hand. Asa was on a chair, and constantly leaning back on the BACK of the chair, so the chair would fall backward a bit, so I had to sit throughout dinner holding the seat of the chair so it wouldn't fall back. There was something sticky where I kept putting my hand, and it was so disgusting. I would forget about it until I would have to set the seat back. Asa would get in and out of the chair to pick up Valentina's toys that would fall on the ground. Valentina kept reaching for things that she's not supposed to have (she chokes remember?) and that was quite a challenge keeping her sticky hands off everything. Her arms seem to stretch like she has some super human power. All in all, it was an exhausting dinner. My dinner was gross too:( I kept taking bites from other plates on the table.

Sissy put 2 band aids (WATERPROOF) on Asa's chin last night. They looked like he had cut himself shaving. He had hurt his chin, and sissy was being so thoughtful by putting band aids on his boo boo. WELL, I knew they were going to hurt when they were pulled off, and knew the novelty of having band aids on his chin was going to wear off pretty quick. I was going to rip them off and mom and sissy are screaming NO, THAT WILL HURT!! Well, if they stayed on any longer, they were going to hurt even worse. Sissy got her medical tools out to do emergency surgery on band aid removal. I WISH THERE WERE PICS!! Asa was sitting on sissy lap, with a portable DVD player on his lap, and mom was sitting next to sissy, holding Valentina, trying to calm Asa down. I'm just observing shaking my head, yelling "I'm just going to rip them off!" It would have been much quicker and probably less traumatic for Asa. After about 10 minutes of surgery, sissy was done, and Asa just kept watching his movie. EXHAUSTING!! It was a challenging evening.

Josh has to work tonight, so we are headed to sissys later this evening to celebrate the new year. What a wonderful year it will be with out little Valentina and Asa being together. Every holiday will be more special, and this whole experience of Sissys' adoption has made me so grateful for all that we have. We are all healthy, in love, and have our kiddo's. LIfe is good.

CHEERS!!

You are most certainly blessed. You have a wonderful husband a child who is so smart and cute and fun that you couldn't ask for more. You are a beautiful young woman with a sister and Mom that would do anything for you. You have friends who love and admire you. This should be a perfect year.
Keep up the good work.
