I'm sure many of you know of Global Orphan Team and the great work they are doing for the orphans in Guatemala. They have been working closely with the hogar where Valentina was living before she came home to us. We are so blessed to have GOT doing God's work and helping the children that need help and care so badly. I was thinking and thinking of what our little family could do to help. As Asa and I were lugging out our recyclables one morning I thought to myself, we can take these to Oregon and get 5 cents per item! GOT money! In Oregon, glass bottles (beer), soda cans and plastic water bottles can be recycled for 5 cents a bottle. We already have 2 big garbage bags full and when we get 3, by next week, we are taking them in to recycle. As I'm rinsing out those cans and bottles, it makes me smile. I think of the children in the hogar and know that we are able to help out a bit and if other families also recycled in a state that gives back, all our donations would add up. Asa feels proud that he is able to help in his own way.
I'm embarrassed to say this, but I had a 2 day hangover following Fat Tuesday. So embarrassed. Thank you for Mom and Sissy for caring for my child the following day. Mom even had to take Asa to basketball practice the next day. 4 beers and a Hurricane chaser is not recommended. The thought of a Hurricane makes my stomach flip flop and it's been a week. Joshua will be doing nothing and then all of a sudden yell " HURRICANE!!!". Flip flop. We had a great time while at the party though. There was an 80's cover band along with a Prince cover band and we danced and had a great time. Right before we left I had a Hurricane and thank God I felt fine until we got home. Josh has pictures, which will never be posted, but they did make me laugh. I'm embarrassed because a 40 year should not be getting hung over anytime. Oh well....I have learned my lesson for a while.
I have been interviewing schools and will probably start sometime in May. Mom has been going with me and she has been such a great help. She has such great insight and I have appreciated her input. I'm going to get a diploma in Medical billing and coding. It's an 8 month course, 5 days a week. I'm excited to start learning something new.
Tonight we will be going out to dinner for Norms birthday. That is going to be a treat.

Woohoo! See drinking does pay off. :-) I am so glad to hear about school, that is very exciting.
Sorry to hear about your hangover, but just for the record, you're never too old to have one!
Love the fact that you have taught your son to be unselfish. I love that about your family. Way to go and i will start saving my cans for you if you want me to.
Hugs

Oh sissy, sissy, sissy, you are forgetting that you have posted pictures of Joshua w/o his knowing and HE has access to your drunk pictures. All I have to do is show him your blog and BOOM! I have your blackmail pictures! LOL. Like I would do that to my sissy. HURRICANE!!!!!
You have to watch those HURRICANES, they will knock you on your butt. Well, you know that now.
But, don't they taste so good.
Good luck with your schooling. Sounds like a great plan.
