Where in the world is Trina?

Asa is growing like crazy. I look at him when he is talking or just milling around and I start to tear up. He is and will always be my baby, but he is starting to be his own person with his own attitude and seeing him learn and grow just melts my heart. The time just flies.

Valentina is wonderful. I love her so much and she is growing as well. I love to have conversations with her and she is so smart. She puts on her own clothes and is ready to be potty trained. She is a fabulous dancer and can't wait until Sissy gets her into a dance class. The kids are such a blessing and always entertaining. I sound like a broken record eh?

New Years eve was perfect. We hung out at Sissys and played games and waited for the ball to drop (EST) and then our little family went home. Asa went to bed late and Joshua and I had some adult time. I woke up a little hung over and just chilled the day away on New Years Day. Overall, pretty darn great.

This coming week is Valentina's 2nd birthday and her party is next weekend. I am so excited! She is just going to love being the princess on her special day and will love all the attention. That is the highlight of our month. Papa's birthday is the following week, so we have a lot to celebrate.

This was December 30. We hadn't had a chance to do our little family trip to Peacock lane before Christmas, so we did it the following week. Asa was so interested in it last year, and this year I would say "Look sweetie, the pretty lights on that house?" he would reply "I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW!" He's such a stinker and was kind of a fun wrecker that night. He wasn't bad, just....a know it all and not enjoying the LIGHTS!

My favorite duo

Asa taking pictures again...that I wasn't aware of.
Another Asa snapshot.

OK...I'm embarrassed to admit that I tried this cake recipe that came in a chain email. It was called 5 minute easy cake for one. You add the ingredients in a mug and it's just enough for a "mug" of cake. You add all the ingredients in, as if you were making a normal size cake, and you microwave it for 5 minutes and it's supposed to be sinfully delicious. (I'm throwing up a little in my mouth just describing it, because it was not delicious, it was anything but). As you can tell, it looks like shit. LOL I'm so dumb...as I was adding the ingredients into the mug, I thought to myself...I'm adding all the ingredients I would as a big cake, it's taking the same amount of time and pulling the same ingredients out, making the same mess as a normal cake. I should have known...it was butt.

SO SICK! The person that sent me the email had definitely not made it, but commented that it was delicious. OK...

Last weekend in Portland at our Sissy only lunch. We had a great time...and the sake was divine.

Sissy lushin' it up. After her second, she was getting ready to leave the booth to hit the ladies room and she said softly..."I hope I can walk". It was close. Isn't she just gorgeous? Thank you for the lunch girlie...I love you;)

sometime last week. Valentina came over and they were eating lunch together. They are just a slice of heaven these two.

Asa got this giant sugar daddy for Joshua for Christmas. EVERYDAY since Christmas, Asa pleads with Josh to eat it. Joshua is a hoarder and had no intention of eating it. It only took Asa 15 days to achieve his goal. my son is a go getter.

Asa at swimming lessons this morning. (far left). The little girl in the cap and goggles makes me laugh. There was a little girl in a yellow bathing suit in the same class, you can't see her...but Asa had to make sure he sat next to her and held her hand for each activity...and yes...she was blond. He just goes dumb when he sees a cute blond girl...
Joshua and I are going on a date tomorrow and it's his turn to surprise me with something on his own. It is truly a mystery as it is the other times he has done this. Once, he took me to gourmet grocery store to pick out some micro brew, another time we did happy hour at one of my fave places , once he took me to the Wal Mart to pick out a new shirt and we can't forget the time when he drove me 40 miles for coffee...at Starbucks. Not sure why we did that...we have one less than a mile from our house. Anyway...it will be fun and I always appreciate what thought he puts into it, or just appreciate the fact that he can come up with something spur of the moment when I ask him "did you remember you're picking out our date tonight?"
Enjoy your Saturday night....Asa and I have a date with Wii in about a half hour.

I kept that recipe thinking one day I would try it. Glad I never did. You never told me about it. When did you make it?

That is so sweet that you and Josh do those special little things for each other. That's what keeps a marriage interesting. You keep working it girl.
Oh and that cake.....shit is right.
