Good Bye Micro Brew...Hello Pre-Natal Vitamins

Our family is going to have another baby. We are very happy and I feel very blessed. Asa is happy and hopes that we will be having a boy, so he can "hang out with the guys" because, you know..guys are cooler than girls.

Our home is quite small, but a home it is and we love it. Idea's had been running around in my head about where we would have the crib. I finally verbalized to Joshua about my concern and he turned to me so matter of fact and said "my office will be the baby room, we'll figure out where my stuff will go later". Last night, as Asa and I and Josh were sitting on Asa's bed, Asa said "I want the baby's crib to go right here (motioning to where his table is next to his bed) we can move the table by the door, move the bookshelf where the dresser is and my dresser can go into your living room. I don't want the baby to be by himself in daddy's office". Sometimes I look at Asa like he has 2 heads...how did he become so grown up?

Finally, Asa knows that the baby is in my tummy, however, he did ask me yesterday how does the baby come OUT of the tummy. Asa loves my tummy, loves to pull up my shirt randomly, kisses it and tells me how beautiful it is (how wonderful is it to be a mom to a boy who doesn't know better?). He has done this for months. He asked me, "the hospital doesn't cut your tummy do they?". I said "sometimes they do"...he then said "sometimes they don't?" I didn't know what to say. Josh chirped in "sometimes if the baby can't come out naturally, then they cut mama's tummy, but then they stitch up the boo boo and it's all better. But most of the time mama's just spread their legs and the baby comes out the vagina." I was kind of shocked. Asa just smiled and said "bagina is a funny word". That was it. No other explanation needed. I'm glad I have Joshua.

Today is Papa's birthday. I love him so much and appreciate all that he does for us. He is a wonderful provider and a great husband, the best father and the best papa any parent could want for their children. I learn everyday from him and never take him for granted. He has the funniest sense of humor and always has something interesting to talk about. He reads the newspaper and watches the news daily, so he always has interesting tid bits of facts and trivia. I grin when I catch myself saying something my Papa would say and wish wish wish that I could have his ingenuity when fixing or repairing something. He really can fix anything with anything..A Macgyver of repair you could say. He is so attentive to the kids and will play with Asa for hours if that's what Asa wants. Last year when Sissy and Mom were in Guatemala picking up Valentina, I worked in the mornings and dropped off Asa with Papa. He took great care of Asa and I didn't have to worry a bit. I love you Papa. Feliz Cumplianos!

I love my family, and am blessed more and more each day.

Congrats Trina. You are going to have so much fun with another baby. And Asa, he is going to dote over the baby. I can't wait to see how Vali reacts.
Josh cracks me up. Guys are so straight forward. I was laughing so hard, I couldn't catch my breath. And Asa wasn't even fazed.
